They are sold at the General Store General Store , but only in small quantities and buying from the store is cumbersome and costly. Trees are a sustainable resource of Wood Wood , granted you do not dig up the saplings and forget to replant them.

On the surface, there are two biomes: Normal surface and The Corruption of It. At night, monsters spawn around the surface. However, after you defeat Commander Vile Commander Vile , they will no longer spawn. On the other hand, there is a small chance that at any time an Invasion will happen, spreading IT's corruption and making your NPCs temporarily inaccessible.

Strategy[]

This area is relatively easy as long as you come prepared, monsters would usually appear in the Ochre Calcite Mini Dungeons around the Layer in pretty large groups, but not outside of them, so take that to your advantage to get the copper armor before things go down hill.

You will know when you find the boss dungeon because it has a different background wall than the other mini dungeons that were to be found, these type of dungeons contain a huge amount of the highest level monster in the whole layer that spans across the entire map with occasional named monsters, which is a death wish to go without copper armor, or a good weapon drop from this layer.

Blocks[]

The most common block in this layer is Muddy Dirt Muddy Dirt , with a middle layer of Muddy Dirt Muddy Dirt and a background of flesh walls. There are also patches of Rough Stone Rough Stone . In Nightmare and higher difficulties, Gath'ack increases speed and fires eight eye-beams in a randomly oriented compass pattern.

Strategy[]

  • Make sure you clear the Dungeon area before challenging Gath'ack and save as many health potions as possible.
  • Make sure you pop several scrolls (Scroll of Blessing Scroll of Blessing , Scroll of Regeneration Scroll of Regeneration , etc).
  • The eye-beams have a range cap of roughly 3/4 the width of the boss room; if you stand at the other side of the room, you may avoid taking the intense damage.
  • Gath'ack fires the Eye-Beams after remaining stationary for a time. This resets any acceleration Gath'ack previously accumulated.
  • It is highly recommended to stay away from Gath'ack when it becomes stationary, as the player may be hit by more than one beam at a time and suffer intense or even lethal damage.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[]

  • The first time Gath'ack is defeated, it drops the Bag of recipes Bag of recipes .

  • Belzor's only direct attack is a burst of more than 20 short range beams in a random starburst formation centered on its eye.
  • More than one beam may hit the player at a time, causing severe or even lethal damage.
