Gath'ack the Soulgazer[ | ]

Gath'ack the Soulgazer

Gath'ack the Soulgazer Gath'ack the Soulgazer is the second boss of It Lurks Below. It is found behind a red door in a dungeon at the bottom of the Muddy Layer after the player receives the quest "It calls from below".

It has three attacks. In order of damage from weakest to strongest, they are: small projectiles that go from his body in a ring, a large projectile, and a single beam that causes block destruction. In Nightmare and higher difficulties, Gath'ack increases speed and fires eight eye-beams in a randomly oriented compass pattern.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Make sure you clear the Dungeon area before challenging Gath'ack and save as many health potions as possible.
  • Make sure you pop several scrolls (Scroll of Blessing Scroll of Blessing , Scroll of Regeneration Scroll of Regeneration , etc).
  • The eye-beams have a range cap of roughly 3/4 the width of the boss room; if you stand at the other side of the room, you may avoid taking the intense damage.
  • Gath'ack fires the Eye-Beams after remaining stationary for a time. This resets any acceleration Gath'ack previously accumulated.
  • It is highly recommended to stay away from Gath'ack when it becomes stationary, as the player may be hit by more than one beam at a time and suffer intense or even lethal damage.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[ | ]

  • The first time Gath'ack is defeated, it drops the Bag of recipes Bag of recipes .
  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items.
  • In Normal Difficulty, bosses always drop some variety of seeds

Drackel the Flesh Ooze[ | ]

Drackel the Flesh Ooze

Drackel the Flesh Ooze Drackel the Flesh Ooze is the third boss of It Lurks Below. It is found behind a door in its Boss Dungeon at the bottom of the Ice Layer after the player receives the quest 'It Knows About You Now'. It consists of several eyes and a heart in the middle. When the eyes are destroyed, they spawn four of Drackel's Bond. These unique spiders inflict the blindness debuff, giving the player nearly zero vision. Once all eyes are destroyed, you can damage the heart for few seconds before the eyes respawn and make the heart invulnerable again.

On nightmare difficulty and higher the eyes will no longer be attached to the heart. Instead, they will rapidly fly around the room. Only one eye will remain vulnerable at a time, the others will be shielded just like the heart. Once the vulnerable eye is destroyed, another eye will become vulnerable. Repeat this until you have destroyed all five eyes and the heart will become vulnerable for a short time.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Make sure you clear the Dungeon area before challenging Drackel and save as many health potions as possible.
  • Make sure you pop several scrolls (Scroll of Blessing Scroll of Blessing , Scroll of Regeneration Scroll of Regeneration , etc).
  • Build platforms platforms above the ground and under the heart and eyes if you are having trouble reaching them.
  • Don't be afraid to recall during the fight and rest back up.
  • You may build walls around them and shoot through a gap in the wall, however blocks may be destroyed throughout the fight.
  • Make sure that you have sufficient Cold Resistance as Drackel's Eyes can freeze you.
  • Blinding Attack from Drackel's Bond also increases your attack speed.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[ | ]

  • The first time Drackel is defeated, it drops A large bag of recipes A large bag of recipes .
  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items.
  • In Normal Difficulty, bosses always drop some variety of seeds

The Tentacle of It[ | ]

The Tentacle of It (rotated) icon

The Tentacle of It The Tentacle of It is the fourth boss of It Lurks Below. It is found behind a door in a dungeon at the bottom of the Slimy Layer after the player receives the quest 'Now You Have Its Attention'. It is a segmented, worm-like creature which moves around the room randomly.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Only the red portion of the Tentacle is actually vulnerable to damage- the grey eyes that trail behind it cannot be damaged.
  • As the Tentacle loses health, the grey eyes will disappear and the Tentacle will move progressively faster.
  • At 25% Health, only the red portion will remain and the Tentacle will reach maximum speed.

Attacks[ | ]

  • The Tentacle of It will continuously shoot poisonous projectiles at the player from its red segment
  • It will also shoot out white projectiles that behave exactly like an Arcing wand- bouncing for a short time before exploding and destroying blocks
  • It will periodically summon Eyes of Annihilation - when these eyes fully expand and explode, they deal 16,000,000 damage that bypasses all armor

In Nightmare and Beyond[ | ]

  • While there are platforms and indestructible blocks to stand on in Normal, these are absent in higher difficulties.
  • In higher difficulties, each grey eye segment will explode and spawn five Belzoroid minions instead of simply disappearing.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[ | ]

  • The first time it is defeated, it drops the Another bag of recipes Another bag of recipes .
  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items
  • In Normal Difficulty, bosses always drop some variety of seeds

Belzor Bloodeye[ | ]

Belzor Bloodeye

Belzor Bloodeye Belzor Bloodeye is the fifth boss of It Lurks Below'. It is found in behind a door in the dungeon at the bottom of the Bloody Layer after the player receives the quest 'It Gets Serious'.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Make sure you clear the Dungeon area before challenging Belzor and save as many health potions as possible.
  • Make sure you pop several scrolls (Scroll of Blessing Scroll of Blessing , Scroll of Regeneration Scroll of Regeneration , etc).
  • Belzor will remain stationary for a short time and charge its beam attack before firing. Yellow sparkles can be seen drawing toward its eye during this period.
  • The Belzoroids surrounding it will eventually respawn if Belzor is alive long enough.
  • Each time a Belzoroid is destroyed, there is a high chance that it will spawn a Belzoroid minion in addition to the fire projectiles.

Attacks[ | ]

  • Belzor is surrounded by two rings of Belzoroids, which when damaged explode in a burst of four flaming projectiles that fire in random directions.
  • Belzor's only direct attack is a burst of more than 20 short range beams in a random starburst formation centered on its eye.
  • More than one beam may hit the player at a time, causing severe or even lethal damage.
  • If the Belzors are rapidly killed while the player is close by, the many projectiles summoned may overwhelm or outright kill the player.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[ | ]

  • The first time it is defeated, he drops the ...
  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items.

It, the Prince of Annihilation[ | ]

It_the_Prince_of_Annihilation

It, the Prince of Annihilation It, the Prince of Annihilation is the sixth boss of It Lurks Below, and the final boss of the Highlands map. It is found in a dungeon at the bottom of the Fleshsore Layer after the player receives the quest An Audience with It.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Make sure you clear the Dungeon area before challenging It and save as many health potions as possible.
  • Make sure you pop several scrolls (Scroll of Blessing Scroll of Blessing , Scroll of Regeneration Scroll of Regeneration , etc).
  • Make use of any Food Buffs you have access to, and try to save shrines to grab before you fight IT for a chance at large stat bonuses.
  • For Normal difficulty, a complete Golden Lodestone set with enchantments and turned into the Aspirant set is recommended. Adamantine cannot be enchanted with emeralds, but the armor improvement is such that it is not needed and functions as well or better.
  • In every other difficulty, the highest ilvl armor you can obtain (preferably enchanted and runeworded) is recommended.
  • Melee Characters are encouraged to use any and all of the following resources
    • Sources of Triple jump, Glide, and Flight
    • The Tabard of Air, Pure Boots, and Darting Boots
    • Platforms and Corrupted Dirt
    • Concussive Weapons
  • It, the Prince of Annihilation is invulnerable while it has eyestalks remaining and while its minion, the Servant of Death, is deployed. Destroy the eyestalks and destroy the Servant or wait for it to return to be able to damage the boss.
  • If at any point you feel overwhelmed, using Recall is never a bad idea.

Attacks[ | ]

  • The eyestalks of IT will continue to shoot out reflective projectiles until destroyed. While there are only four eyestalks in Normal, there will be eight in every other difficulty. They will regrow eventually, and progressively more quickly on each difficulty above normal.
  • The Servant of Death will occasionally spawn, moving horizontally from IT to one wall and then the other before returning to IT.
  • The Servant of Death will continuously pulse an incredibly dangerous vertical beam as it travels the room. Use the nooks on either side of the boss room to shield yourself or kill it.
  • IT will occasionally summon Eyes of Annihilation which, when fully expanded, explode for 16,000,000 damage that ignores all armor.
Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Rewards[ | ]

  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items.
  • In Normal Difficulty, bosses always drop some variety of seeds

Astaroth[ | ]

Astaroth

Astaroth Astaroth is the seventh boss of It Lurks Below. It is found in a dungeon at the bottom of the Garnet Layer in the Badlands after the player receives the quest "Kill Astaroth". It is currently the final boss of the story.

Hearts of Darkness[ | ]

Hardmode is active if hearts are left up. Four hearts[1] can be found in the Mini Boss Dungeons

The order of hearts refers to the order they are encountered when starting from the surface.

  • The First Heart will remove Astaroth's ability to summon Belzoroid ads if killed
  • The Second Heart will remove Astaroth's fire spiral shot if killed
  • The Third Heart will weaken Astaroth's attack damage if killed
  • The Fourth Heart will half Astaroth's health pool if killed

It is highly recommended to kill all hearts of darkness when fighting for the first time.

Note: Bosses are the same level as the monsters found outside of their room.

Attacks[ | ]

  • Astaroth will continuously fire a spiral of poisonous projectiles while in the air
  • If the second heart is still alive, Astaroth will also shoot a continuous spiral of flaming projectiles
  • If the first heart is still alive, Astaroth will continuously shoot a projectile at the ground that spawns a Belzoroid. However, these spawns are capped and will eventually stop regardless of how many the player has (or hasn't) killed.
  • Astaroth will periodically - but rapidly - summon a series of Eyes of Annihilation centered directly on the player's position. These eyes, once fully expanded and upon exploding, do 16,000,000 damage to the player, ignoring all armor.

Strategy[ | ]

  • Food Buffs, Scrolls, Shrine Buffs, Ogre Mushroom buffs, etc. are all highly recommended
  • Wear the highest ilvl craftable (or unique) armor you can, preferably enchanted and turned into a runeword set.
  • Burst Damage is key, as Astaroth is only vulnerable when it rests on the ground for a few seconds at a time.
  • The most important thing in this fight is avoiding the Eyes of Annihilation- it is incredibly easy for a character without high speed or a fast movement skill (Dash/Teleport) to end up surrounded by these eyes in a corner with no way out. In that situation, your only hope is to either pop an Invulnerability skill/potion or hit the Recall button and pray you make it in time.
  • Avoid trapping yourself by resisting the urge to move upon seeing an eye spawn on you. Astaroth summons them rapidly behind each other, so wait a second or so for more to spawn in that same location before moving out of range. Do NOT rapidly start darting around in the boss room as soon as the first eye appears, as you are likely to simply litter the entire boss room with them- leaving no escape.
  • If you have access to flight or a dash/teleport, a good way to make the fight easier is to hang out just above the boss room in the rooms above while Astaroth is moving around the arena. This avoids most of its rapidly firing attacks, but also provides a great place to bait the Eyes of Annihilation- once it starts summoning, let a few accumulate and then rapidly enter the boss arena, safely away.
  • Avoid slowness at all costs - this includes both Glide and a low Speed stat. While you should not be running around the boss room and littering it with Eyes of Annihilation, you should be capable of rapidly leaving any spot where one is about to explode. In addition, max resists are always recommended, as Astaroth's poison projectiles will slow you down and cause serious problems.

Loot[ | ]

  • Gamma rune will drop if the boss is within close enough level range of the player to grant experience.
  • A higher chance to drop some high quality items, including unique items.
  • The more hearts of darkness left alive, the better Astaroth's rune drops will be
  • In Normal Difficulty, bosses always drop some variety of seeds
